    Spanish spawn?

Just wondering when, where, and how Spanish mackerel spawn. The males I caught were squirting milk and the females had eggs of different maturity. Just wondering....

As early as April but usually May-September, in small schools, in the open waters of the Gulf.
They mature at 1 year of age (~14") and may have visible milt/eggs present in them at anytime of the late spring through early fall.
