You forgot fishing a spinning reel upside down, usually attached to a rod made for a conventional reel. They also take offense to advice usually followed up by letting you know how many years they've been fishing/coming down to the beach.
Can't help but smile and go about your day.
"Rat reds"- small/undersized redfish.
Sadly, in my recent talks with coworkers I have come to realize that casting with a spinning reel is something that not everyone is accustomed to. I must've assumed this was the norm, considering I've been fishing with an "open faced reel" since I was 8-10 yrs old!

Now that is something that realllllyyyyyyy makes me cringe and want to scream.
Don't you think a grown adult can looks around at the other 99% of people using spinning reel and figure out they are doing something that is not only wrong but awkward as hell???
Maybe they would rather struggle and look stupid vs. ask for advice?????
