Skunked 2 days in a row.
Hey y'all. First off Ive had a lot of fun yesterday and today on the pier. It's a fun place and everyone is pretty nice. I stopped in to J&M both days to stock up on rigs and bait. But the bad news is all I have to show for it is a foul hooked ramora. I've thrown bubble rigs, looney jigs, rubber flukes. I've tried live shrimp, live baitfish I've caught and cigar minnows. I've heard people say that the fishing has been poor the last couple days but it still surprises me I'm (and the people I'm with) are getting shut out. I'm heading back out tomorrow morning to try again but I would really appreciate any help or words of wisdom you rats and mice might be willing to share.

Hey Ark, I feel your pain. I fished Friday from 10 am till dark and had one bite from a big spanish that cut my bait in half. I had two bites yesterday from kings and caught one, and that's from daylight till 4 pm. Some days are just brutal. Lots of bait, beautiful water, fair wind....no fish around. The spanish should be here but there are no numbers. During one three hour lull yesterday, I kind of lost my mind for a little while, got out my light tackle, and started catching remora. Impressed some tourist-type people that took my picture with my fish.
Hey, it was a really big remora.I saw a handful of flounder caught yesterday....I'm almost desperate enough to start fishing for them. Maybe some of the others could help you with fishing in the shallows.....

I hear you Rich. I've fished freshwater my whole life and sometimes the fish just aren't there. Oh well, going to give it a shot this morning and see how it goes. Still beats anything else I would be doing today!
Finchaser, thanks for correcting that typo in my original post. Stupid phone and its tiny keypad got me.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
