Thread: sheepshead info

I'm sure its been discussed a few times but I can't seem to find much info on it. Headed down in mid April to look at some potential wedding locations and want to get some fishing in. I'll be fishing with my uncle who hasn't done much saltwater fishing so I figured catching some sheepshead would be fun for him. I've never really targeted them so not sure what the best gear for them would be. Rod length, action, line weight etc. Also can we buy fiddler crabs and shrimp that time of year? I know shrimp can be hard to come by sometimes.

I'm beginning to think that live shrimp and bull minnow availability is dependent on the amount of beer in the bait guy's frig. If he's stocked up on Milwaukee's Beast and raw oysters then catching bait isn't a priority.
