Sharkfest Gear Suggestions???
Soooo I'm ginna do my best to get down there for Sharkfest. What gear? 5000-6000 spinning reel with 7' heavy rod with 50# braid? Terminal tackle suggestions? Thanks

I don't know of a spinning reel with 50# of drag, so 50# line is overkill.
I'd stick with 20 or 25#, less chance of bending a shaft or busting spool.
Heavy 7 strand or single strand leader and a stout hook is all you need.
If it happens and if I get down, I'll be using a Penn 309 loaded with 40# mono on a 6' Penn Long Beach glass rod.Carl

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
