Shark fishing
Can you shark fish from the beach? The last I heard is that you could not beach a shark in gulf shores.

You can still shark fish out there. It is illegal to fish for sharks in orange beach and gulf shores.

No it is not.
It is illegal to chum or bloodbait from or within 300' of the beach.
It is illegal to fish, bowfish or take fish in any manner which creates an unsafe condition or hazard to anybody in the water or on the beach.
And those ^ bits of law are written so loosely as to allow them to stop anyone from fishing anywhere they wish.
Somebody was afraid of getting hooked, somebody thinks your shrimp is going to attract a shark... The Tourist wins in Alabama, this is not Florida.
Fish well away from people, fish at night, be unobtrusive, don't chum and catch all the sharks you want to.
It is against Gulf State Park rules to fish for sharks, use fishing gear they deem appropriate for sharks from their beaches/pier and lastly it is forbidden to land sharks on their beaches/pier.
It is not that it is a law per se, but it is a regulation with force of law behind it.Ragnar Benson:
Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
