Re: Shark Attack?
I will continue to say this. When you enter the water, you enter the food chain.

Re: Shark Attack?
I heard the news on the radio today, they said the man was bitten by the same ol' "unidentified-unknown" fish speil that they always use, like the shark posing as a barracuda that bit someone around Orange Beach. I'm glad someone finally had the guts to say the "S" word. Like Pier Pest said about the food chain thing, it's bound to happen sooner or later. I wonder if the person that got bit was swimming close to the pier? I thought there was a sign out there that said swimmers can't get but so many feet from the pier. Oh well, score one for ol' sharky!

Re: Shark Attack?
I think the sign says no swimming or fishing within 100 yards of the pier. There are yellow posts east and west of the pier on the beach at 100 yards.
Just another rule that is not enforced and sooner or later someone is gonna get hooked swimming right next to the pier.
Life is like toilet paper; you’re either on a roll or taking crap from some a$$hole!

Sorry dude got bit, but its bound to happen down here, its like shark alley. Thought is was hilarious see as how there are "no sharks in gulf shores or orange beach." They still play it down but if you think about it, there has been several shark bites in the last couple years, and I'm sure more that aren't making headlines. Wouldn't be surprised if the city paid people who got bit or had something of that sort kept quiet. Unless someone gets seriously hurt, its not hardly even reported.Visit our facebook page

Re: Shark Attack?
Quoting al.com:
"He was in waist-deep water and he saw the shark," Brown said this morning. The wound looked like a cheese grater had been rubbed along his leg, he said. The man received stitches and antibiotics.”
Sounds like he was too close to the pier and rubbed against a barnacle covered piling trying to run from the shark, or whatever he saw, cuz we all know there ain’t no sharks around the pier!

Maybe it was a Remora that just sucked the hell out of his leg.
