Seen it all? Nope.
There are witnesses--- A guy came up to the octi rail to cast, and his bait was a small, largemouth bass---a live one. Pug said, "The h#ll of it is, he'll probably catch a 40 # king on it." Sure enough, the man got a bite on it---cut off the leader and all, so I'll let you figure out what it was.
It gets better. After he re-rigged, he baited up with a live bluegill---one of those black-looking little dudes you catch in these cattail ponds near the coast---and his son rigged up a double hook fish finder rig with a dead shrimp and a dead bream, at which point it was brought to their attention that no bottom fishing was allowed off the end. English was not the first language of these two.
I guess there's no end to it---Gotchas baited with squid, Booya bass spinners with live shrimp, bull minnows on a 7/0 circle hook and lure combinations that boggle the mind. I do stupid stuff all the time, but I try not to go that far down the rabbit hole.

Last year I saw two guys roll a cooler full of small largemouth (dead ones on ice) and fish with them. Thought that was odd enough until the next day when a guy came out there with a dead squirrel and fished it a while. A squirrel............

When I lived in California back in the early 80's for a few years, I saw two guys using live kittens behind balloons to catch sharks. The wind would blow the kittens out, they would then take turns shooting a BB gun till they popped the balloon. As the poor kittens tried to swim back in a shark would usually hit. They would hook up the shark work the rod back to the beach and drag him ashore. This was on a small pier north of San Francisco. By the way these guys did not use Proper English either.

I don't like cats but I think I'd have to draw the line at that.
But speaking of weird bait - here's one that I can guarantee works.
Coons - live trap baited with banana moon pie smeared with grape jelly. Set the trap in a creek bed where fresh coon sign is.......Screw it. Let's ride.

As for the kitten thing, those assholes would be in jail if I'd seen it. Totally disgusting, not to mention against the law!

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
