Rod Storage
I'm having trouble finding an 8 ft. hard sided Rod carrier for multiple 7 and 8 ft. rods to bring down to the beach. If anyone knows of a good one can you let me know.
Go Vols, I don't mind Nick Saban, but Lane Kiffin just bends the rod too much.

Get ya a 10' piece of drain pipe cut to length and a couple of end caps. Less than $20.

I am assuming you are not flying and therefore don't care about air-line acceptability. I've had some luck with a large ski-bag from "Play-it-again-sports" where the main purpose was concealment and convenience and not damage resistance from kids or pets playing cargo leapfrog. For two-piece rods breaking down to sections of 4-5' each a golf bag cover or large duffle works too.
Thin-walled plastic pipe is much lighter than heavy duty (schedule 40) and lacks the holes of drain. (Although any rod damaged by water leakage was no loss, you don't want the curious to get a free view of the goods.) An empty carpet core is priced right (1 dumpster-dive) and standard pipe-caps fit and can be recycled.
Put rods in a sleeve inside the tube or otherwise separate the parts -- rubbing other rods or continually vibrating against another part of the same rod is not healthy for finishes. Do not stick the little section through a large guide on another section for the same reason -- plus don't damage a large guide by repeated impact to the inner rig. Do alternate rods nose-to-tail to fill the tube evenly.

I've made one of the PVC carriers, and stuck pieces of foam rubber (cut to fit) inside the caps. Works like a charm!!!

Ah what the heck just do like Carl basically said I should do when I asked about reel protection..just chunk them in the back of the truck..only kidding. The end capped pvc is the economical way to go, plus effective.

I have a couple others not so big and longBill..............
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
