rod action
what is a good action for a 8 to 9 foot king/cobia rod for the pier and why?

Depends on your method of fishing for kings. If you're throwing cigs, I'd say med. power/ fast-extra fast action.

Action really depends on your preference. I fish a pretty stiff rod with a fast tip for both snobbling cigs and live bait but some people like a slow action noodle type rod for the same purposes. You may have a hard time finding a rod light enough to throw king baits but powerful enough to handle cobia though. I think your best bet may be to look at j&m and see what you like the best.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
