    Question Rigs???

Ol' wise Rats & Mice, Would it be to my advantage to tie some rigs before coming to GS in Jan. & Feb. If so, what kind of rigs should I tie? Bait fish, Whiting or should I just use dynamite?

I like to tie some before I get there for the kings(if I have time) break off a whole lot on sharks, I only came back with maybe a dozen or so out of 60-70 tied, once I saw spanish was hitting and around I went to the jig and tied that as I needed.

that time(Jan&Feb) I am sure you will have plenty of time to tie....6am to 6pm I am too tired to think about anything else but shower, eat and get the fish vacuum sealed and in the freezer that night..... all to do it again the next day....hope to get out a few times with the gig and light for flounder this year along the beach

Having pre-tied Carolina rigs for whiting is always nice - hook (#4 kahle), flouro leader, and tiny barrel swivel. All ya gotta do is add an egg sinker and bead on your main line, tie it and you're back in bidness. Not that you'll lose that many when fishing the skinny, but it happens, and if the bite is on you don't want to be screwing around tying new rigs.

edited to add - almost all craft stores sell tiny ziplock bags (2"x2", 3"x3" etc) which are excellent for storing individual (coiled) leaders in so they don't get all tangled. They generally are in the "beading" section of the store.
    Screw it. Let's ride.

Carolina rigs for bottom fishing. I made a previous post about what I was using for flounder and whiting. Can't remember which post it was. I pre-tie all my spanish leaders using 18lb seven strand wire and a #4,6, or 10 treble.

Dynamite messes up the filets too much! After all that is what this is all about, at least for me. I am a little off this week have only eaten seafood 4 times in past seven days.
