There was a pretty good post a couple of months ago about how to make one out of single strand wine and some crimp sleeves. IIRC you just keep making connected figure 8s out of a single long piece of wire (putting crimps to set the diameter) and then weave a piece of red ribbon in it as attractant.
He didn't say to do so, but you might put a half granny under each sleeve.
Looked pretty easy.
I googled: here's one on a blog (scroll down). It does not have crimps.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I ordered my net materials from Memphis Net and Twine for 20 bucks got enough to last a hundred years. Just add red ribbon and weight or easy way just go to J & M and buy already made up.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
