    Ribbon net

    Anyone know where i can order a ribbon net online, mine is on its last legs and i'd like to already have one when i come down

    I'd have to measure it when i get home, its the larger size i guess, baby lys tend to slip through

    There was a pretty good post a couple of months ago about how to make one out of single strand wine and some crimp sleeves. IIRC you just keep making connected figure 8s out of a single long piece of wire (putting crimps to set the diameter) and then weave a piece of red ribbon in it as attractant.

    He didn't say to do so, but you might put a half granny under each sleeve.

    Looked pretty easy.

    I googled: here's one on a blog (scroll down). It does not have crimps.

    On the rail tackle has some really nice ones
    they come in two different mesh sizes

    I'm asking because I'm having a hard time locating the it in the regs, those are ok in Alabama but not Florida?

    They are fine to use in AL.

    My understanding is that they are considered a "gillnet" under Florida's rules and therefore no allowed. So much for common sense...

    I ordered my net materials from Memphis Net and Twine for 20 bucks got enough to last a hundred years. Just add red ribbon and weight or easy way just go to J & M and buy already made up.
