    Redfish Skin

As I’m sure it is with most things, can and should are two very different things. So I’m asking for recommendations.... Can you eat redfish skin? Should you eat redfish skin?

It's better if you take the scales from the bull reds and use them as guitar pics.

You can but it's not the tastiest stuff.

Since the skin has no desirable qualities - why would anybody want to? I don't remember ever eating redfish skin, but I'd imagine it to be rubbery/chewy which would take away from the positive qualities of the flesh. So while it's probably physically possible, there seems to be no upside to doing so.

Shouldn't it be saved for "redfish on the halfshell?"

I use the skin to make shields so I can protect myself from those pesky pygmies with their irritating poison arrows. You just never know when one will pop up and try to pierce you.

You don't 'save it' and you sure as hell don't eat it with the scales on.

I know you don't eat it, thought you kept it to cook on? Lol
