Red Tide
Been up north for the holidays with folks and grandbabies.
Looked over recent posts and was not able to find any info on the current status of the red tide outbreak.
Is the outbreak over?Beware the power of fools in large numbers

It would seem so.
Cooler weather and recent heavy rains may have ended it.
Monday afternoon (Jan 4) while driving out Fort Morgan Road the bay water along the side of the road near "The Pines" boat ramp was terribly rough with 3 foot waves rolling in.
It looked like whipped cream on top of cocoa (breakers on light brown water).
But come to think of it I noted a marked discoloration (reddish brown darkening) right along the shoreline out about 50 feet or so.
In retrospect, I should have called and reported it.
But I had the window down and experienced NO symptoms and saw and heard of no fish kills in that vicinity.
