Recent Trip to Orange Beach
Just got back from our trip to the gulf, Wish I was still there is all I have to say about the trip.
We stayed at the Four seasons condo, the one with the private fishing pier. It was my first time really fishing a pier besides renting a pole in Destin and catching a few hardtails for an hour or so. My first stop was J&M tackle. GREAT guys! I walked right in and a guy asked if I needed any help. He had my set up for under a hundred dollars for Spanish and possible some flounder, and again great guys. I sat and talked to the guy about fishing for 30 mins or more, super friendly and they make you feel like they WANT you to catch fish.
The whole trip I caught close to 20-25 Spanish mainly on bubble rigs and a few on a gotcha. Caught a few bluefish, tons of hardtails(some where calling them yellowtails), caught a red drum bouncing a loony jib off the bottom, and a lady fish. The Spanish was by far the most fun catching. It seemed most the the days would be slow, but when the Spanish would make there run for about 30 mins at a time everyone would be at the end of the pier throwing bubbles and dang near tossing a fish over the rail every cast. A few time over a hundred fish where caught in a 30 min span with about 10 lines in the water. Someone was at the filet table cleaning them as they where thrown over the rail.
My experience at the four seasons condo was great. Everyone I met was VERY friendly and more than willing to help out a newbie. The good people I got to meet and fish with no doubt made the trip.
Aside from our Spanish, a few decent sized flounder where caught and a nice King!
I cant wait to get out there again next year, I haven't stopped thinking about catching those Spanish! That kind of fishing can be addicting!
Just want to give another shout out to J&M for there honest business, and very friendly staff. I could have hung out there talking for hours. And big shout out to the guys at the Four seasons pier, great bunch of folks out there!

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
