Thread: questions from a rookie

Myself and 4 other rookies will be down 6/22-6/25,just had a few questions.What is the best hook/size for kings and reds?what is the best time for fishing (morning afternoon night)?Is it possible to catch mullet from the pier?Thanks guys all advice is appreciated. Thanks

Match the hook size to the bait you are using.
Frozen cigar minnows (#2 or #1 treble 3X or 4X)
Live LYs and such (same)

Mornings are my favorite, but not always the best.
Afternoons are good during calm periods when the wind (seabreeze) starts blowing.
Nights are good for escaping the heat of the day and often catching catfish ;-)

You can sometimes catch mullet from the pier but you have to snatch them with a big treble hook.
