    No wire traps at GSP. you can drop the net type traps though. I usually throw wire traps at Little Lagoon.

    go over the the lake in near the campground. rope and a chicken neck and a long handle dip net....fill a 5 gallon bucket in 20 minutes

    Overall I'd say Ft Morgan or Fairhope pier.

    Keep in mind though this time of year the mature females are out in the deep gulf and most males are buried in the sand and mud of the lower bay.
    You will catch a few in Little Lagoon during warm periods in winter but keep in mind they are cold-blooded and generally are not very active in winter.

    +1 for fairhope, those mo-fos eat more of my red fish bait then the frickin reds!
