    pine beach trail

Hi y'all..I'll be down Thursday getting soooo excited to get there. Had a question.it looks like you can take this pine beach trail to the little lagoon...is this true or worth it? If so has anyone done this? How long does it take? Sorry for all the questions just excited and curious.
    Thanks

It's true, but that hike is about a mile (from Mobile St) just to get to the east side of Gator Lake @ the west end of L.Lagoon.

I might suggest trying the Jeff Friend Trail farther east...

Thanks #er I like to look for interesting spots maybe off the beaten path. How is the fishing down that way? Should I expect it to be crowded? And any advice on rigs or bait for fishing the lagoon?

    Not crowded at all.
Usually a few bird watchers, VERY few fishers.
I doubt there's much to it.
That is all wading area, but better accessible by boat (what you usually see).

No. You park on Mobile St and walk in.

Haven't been through there for quite a number of years. Used to pull my boat up there at the end of the lagoon and walk over and fish the beach. Was always very quiet and peaceful and could be good fishing. One thing of note: beware of the cactus in the dunes between the Lagoon and the beach. Used to be some pretty mean ones in there close to the ground and not very noticeable. Wasn't paying close enough attention once and several went through my shoe.

Jeff Friend trail is close to the water 100 yds or less. I launch my Kayak there. Drop it off and then park in the lot.

The lake has bass and brim in it while you're down there doesn't hurt to fish it
