Pier soft and grand opening
Exactly when is the soft opening of the pier? What that is that soft opening any way? Does any one know when the official grand opening is and do we have to pay to attend for either one?

Nobody knows anything. It's all speculation.

we left GS on Friday, and there were still crews on the pier. I dont think it will be ready for at least another couple weeks... they were still putting up handrails on the east side near the octi last week.

What Tom said. It has not even been announced there would be a 'soft' opening.
Only that when the pier opened in 2009 there was a 3 day 'soft opening'.
At this point ANYTHING is speculative and "scuttlebutt" because NOTHING OFFICIAL has been released, hinted or even talked about.
Of course that would pretty much circumvent the intent and purpose of a 'soft opening' by its very definition...
"soft opening": An unannounced or lightly announced business opening, instead of or prior to a grand opening.Last edited by Pier#r; 08-17-2020 at 10:12 AM.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
