Great food and friends. Thanks to Jeff Bearden and Robert Piteo for their hard work in putting it all together and all the great friends that brought the other dishes. Special thanks to John G., Jeff and Jeb for the great roast pork. It's not an easy job to pull this all together but these guys deserve our heartfelt thanks. So THANK YOU...

Pier Picnic 2018
I'd like to give a big shout out to Jeff and Robert for pulling this off, it was a great picnic.
Seeing all the familiar and not so familiar faces, and putting faces to names.
What a great group of people.
Some really delicious offerings hit the potluck table, most notably the Smoke Pork Butts that made up the mainstay. Mmmm, Mmmmm Yummy, love me some smoked Butts with a good bark on the
And there was more than enough to allow for anyone to pile it on.
Many thanks to the cooks, John G. Jeff and Jeb who spent the hours required to put tender pulled pork on the table.
There was the Pork with sammich fixings, Pizza, Fried Chicken, Hotdogs/fixings, Taco Pie, a nice zesty Chili, Hashbrown Casserole, tangy Coleslaw, Tater salad, a fantastic Mack Dip/Crackers, some killer Pimento Cheese/Crackers with other assorted finger foods, tater and corn chips of all kinds and more, more, more.
And no lack of desserts, including that Strawberry Angelfood creation that disappeared quickly, there was a rich creamy Flan that I and several others particularly enjoyed and more, more, more.
Drinks too, something to quench the thirst on this warm day and wash down all the great food.
Anyone who went away hungry, well it's your own danged problem.Ragnar Benson:

Great job Jeff & Robert. It was a little too busy for me to make it along with most of the afternoon spent helping set up for last nights GHS band banquet. I'll have a little more time next year being Hannah graduates this week and her rollercoaster ride of deciding between Vandy, UAB, South Alabama and Tulane finally came to an end two weeks ago when South gave her early acceptance into med school along with a full four year scholarship including room and board and with the other dozen or so national, regional and local scholarship funds, she will have a good bit of leftover money for medical school.
