The pier in Outdoor Life
There was little article Outdoor Life magazine about fishing on the Gulf Coast here, and there was a pretty good blurb about the GS Pier. Of course the author interviewed some people who didn't know beans about fishing the pier---the lady was cleaning a salt water catfish and her significant other was nearby fishing for mackerel (?) with cut bait.
The author was fishing with a rented rod---nuff said.
He did say that there were a lot of regulars who were willing to give advice. He apparently didn't take any of it.
He also went into the opportunity for surf fishing for sharks, apparently unaware that it's illegal to land them in GS and OB.
Too bad he didn't know about this month's "centerfold fishermen". Norman, Slim, Harley, Leroy and I could have put his feet on a different path. Would have made him a star, too.
It was certainly better than negative publicity.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
