Pier to open in February
According to GSP Facebook.
Our work crews/contractors and park maintenance are working diligently to get a little more than 1,000 ft of the pier re-opened. Through their hard work, we are preparing for a completion date sometime in February. Mark your calendars and plan on coming fishing just in time for the water to start warming up. We appreciate your patience and support of Gulf State Park as we continue to work through the devastation of Hurricane Sally.
https://www.facebook.com/GulfStateParkPeople are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I can smell the salt spray already. The anticipation will be better than waiting for Christmas.

I just went by there this morning, just before 10 a.m. and there was one truck in the parking lot.

Are they still doing the visitor tours ?
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
