    Re: pier gaff

I've cradled a fish with a five prong before....it will be better then nothing....I still prefer 4 prong..... seems with a five the second entering will make it harder for full penetration to the first prong....but that is a googan's point of view and only one is needed to bring a fish up anyway....so 3 should work, better then nothing.....and some say why would you put a hole in a perfectly good fish anyway oke1:
    use a net oke:

before Mr. John g suggested another style to make

    Re: pier gaff

light is bad on windy days.....heck the rope catches enough wind as it is....if it is light I would maybe use a smaller dia. rope to catch less wind....but again.... from a googan.....mine pictured are 4 to 5-1/2 lbs....but my spanish gaff might be less than 1lb?? - 1/8 rope too
    show a picture of it

    Re: pier gaff

I have a small 4 prong gaff. People laugh at it until I stick a fish with it. Then they want me to do it anytime. 85-90% of the time its a head shot. I like it being a on the smaller side because I can use it like a grappling hook and swing it a lot easier than a bigger one(including high wind situations. But that is just my experience and and opinion. I do want to get a ling gaff at some point when I can afford one.

    Ironman,
every time you post pics of those great gaffs I get annoyed... Annoyed because I can't find such nicely crafted gaffs to buy, heck any large gaffs for that matter. :spank:

    Hey Bill,
your gaffs are the cats meow!
Do you have any long arms? Need ammo? Wanna make a trade?
    I have .308 FMJ, .223/5.56 FMJ/SS109, 7.62x39 FMJ, .22lr and .12g/00. Or maybe a few NIB AR15 mags?
