Pier fishing
I remember years and years ago being able to snag mullet at night under the pier. Do people still do this? Is it practical if still legal? Do people have success at this?

Carbide, welcome to the GSPF forum!
Yes, they still do.
Yes, it is legal.
Practical? In my opinion only if you don't have a castnet and some time to kill on the beach, or a dock/pier where castnets are allowed.
Snagging is an acquired skill, if you're good at it you can put fish in the cooler and have fun doing it.
People intentionally snag a variety of species besides just mullet.Ragnar Benson:

Thanks guys for the quick responses! I enjoy this forum...I find it to be a wealth of knowledge. Hope to maybe see you guys at the pier. Headed that way soon; it has been almost 10 years.

Carbide, I agree w/your last comment. There seems to be a great bunch of guys and ladies who are very informative. I have searched fishing forums and this one site it the best. Thanks to all who make it what it is.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
