which is best side to fish from the east side rail or the west side rail?

I would note the wind, current, and what my neighbor was catching or not.

It depends, in my limited experience, the wind plays a big part on which side is hot. I learned a lot by reading through the dated fishing reports. Read through the past years on the dates you want to fish. The easier way to tell is stop and watch for a bit before you put a line in the water.

There is no single best side. As noted above, depends on wind, current, where the sand bars are, what kinda mood the fish are in, planet alignment, what you had for breakfast, etc......

That said, I prefer the west side in the morning and the east side in the afternoon so I am not staring into the sun.
