Picked up a new 706 combo
Well the other day im cruising through the ol craigslist in north Alabama and what do I see. yep a 706z on a custom rod for barter. So little to say I made it a priority to get the rod. I ended up trading my hand held Garmin etrex legend gps that I rarely use for the combo. Not to mention that the reel does not have a scratch on it and the roller is as quiet as a new one out of the box. Let know what you think on the trade.
Love to hear that 706 sing

I'd say you came out like a bandit, especially if you didn't use the eTrex much. Nice find!

What # monofilament does most 706 users use on the 706? Also, how many yards will it hold? Thanks.

I have aqnother with 17# (about 350 yards)
and 15# (around 400 yards)
and one of the gold spools with 280 yards of 25#

Very nice find for sure, great reel and really like the looks of the rod....anymore after this past fall and stripping 1 rod, I am liking the natural fiberglass look some rods have hidden under the paint

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
