Perdido Pass dredging 2015
Orange Beach welcomes dredging project at Perdido Pass | AL.com
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will soon begin dredging the city's lone access to the Gulf of Mexico. Once all the equipment is in place, the project at Perdido Pass is expected to wrap up within four weeks.
It's been about five years since the Perdido Pass channel has been thoroughly dredged.
On Wednesday morning, two dredging boats were anchored near the Caribe Resort condominiums, just east of the pass.
Parker said dredging could start this weekend and the contractor has 30 days to complete the project. About 250,000 cubic yard of sand will be removed from the pass and its channels north of the bridge.
The goal is to get the pass back to a depth of 9 to 12 feet, Parker said.
"They're going to start to try to fill it there at the west side of the west jetty and whatever's remaining they're going to pull it down on the west side of the beach," Parker said.

Good news for most. Now all we gotta do is get 'em working on the wall so we can use the fishing park again!

Does anyone know if they are going to fix the sea wall on the West side, or when they are suppose to be done with the bridge and sea wall from the Little Lagoon and while there at it, they could repair the Pier at Ft. Morgan too. Tell them that I want all of that crap done by the time I get back here next year. Oh Ya! Try to get the temp. up about another 15 - 20 degrees and a little less wind, 10 - 15 MPH would be fine. Haywire, see what you can do with those boys, tell them that you are going to use that old Hog for shark bait if they don't Snap To.

A fellow such as myself could get a good way toward the end of that jetty without rock-hopping, except that I'd be walking in soft sand. Not in my immediate plans---fishing would have to be some kind of fine for me to make that expedition.

That rock hopping is something I did when I was 17 years old. It was tough then, much less now ! That day back then, I caught a 4 lb 4 oz Spanish on 2 lb test line. crazy things kids do---
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
