If you're fishing it from the shore, I'd try along the seawall or the jettes. If you're fishing it from a boat, the pillars under the bridge or the jettes both have been.

I haven't ever "tore" them up at the pass, the ones I caught were incidental while sheepshead fishing. But yes I caught them the same way. They were deep, almost on bottom, and off of the structure using shrimp. If you're going to use artificials, fish them slow and deep.

    Re: Perdido Pass

I've been fishing it by boat this year. With limited shore access, I've noticed there hasn't been nearly as many fisherman there. The jettes have had about the same amount of people fishing them. I don't think the jettes themselves will ever be too crowded, that hike out there isn't for everyone. Be careful if y'all take the hike!

    Re: Perdido Pass

Watched a guy about 70 years old jump from rock-to-rock, out and back without stopping at all. Got back to the wall and jogged off - hardly breathing hard. Basically jogging on the jetty. I was deeply impressed. Just picking my way out is a chore.
    Screw it. Let's ride.

The inshore guides call the jetty fisherman land crabs because of the way they fumble from rock to rock.
