Perdido Pass – Question / Options
After looking at Google earth map, it appears that the condo where we are staying in OB is within walking distance to the Perdido Pass rock jetty (west side). Can you fish on these jetties? Is there a good place to fish on the east side – Florida Point (?) ?
I just trying to come up with some additional options oralternatives other than the pier. Thanks for any advice!!!

I have fished it right on the end and did real well in the spring....sheep head very close at the rocks(live shrimp) and blue fish casting jigs.... take a landing net for the sheep head....those rocks are big, but tricky and can hurt you quick so pack semi light and take your time....it is a real long walk from the road parking lot but form the condo's isn't to bad depending which one....we were in the Phoenix east 2 at that time. good luck and please be careful and don't ruin your trip, going to the hospital.....that is why the pier is so appealing to me ....much easier access
you will need a salt water fishing license too anywhere on the beachBill..............

I've caught more fish on the east side than the west side. Lot easier walk too, park at the State Park restroom under the bridge.
Fish the beach edge of the east jetty: pompano, sheepshead, redfish, maybe specs. Blues too.
A beach cart makes it easier to get all your stuff out there.Carl

You could see the sheep head feeding on the rocks and put the shrimp right in front of there nose...be prepared to loose a few, they are educated fish....and not always can you get on the end of the jetty...I would take a spotting scope and watch the action both on the rocks and the boats too that were fishing right there from the balcony and made my move shortly before dark

I've caught tons of Spanish off the west jetty when they come in thick. mangrove snapper late in the year and Sheepheads early on. the tide plays a big role in the bite tho. it's a long treacherous hike but one advantage is not a lot of competition. just watch for the charter boats to come up on you. they have the whole Gulf of Mexico and they park right there.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
