Not sure about 3500 but I just bought a SSV 4500 last week at Walmart online for $99.00 free shipping. I hate to admit it but Wallyworld is startiing to offer deals from time to time, competing with Amazon. I like Penn products and got most of my gear from them online.

Something maybe afoot ,I've been looking at distributor/wholesale pricing on them and I see that they are being discounted .
That tells me that Penn wants them out of the way , Most likely to make way for a new model or a upgrade .
They are still a good reel , But that was just what they did when they went from the Battle to the BattleII.backwoods likes this.If you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

I was able to get a 3500 for $72 this week with the free shipping and it will be here tomorrow.
The reel just arrived but I noticed today on Amazon they are listed the reel for $88.
Amazon changes their prices from time to time; I ordered mine on Saturday.
