Penn sargus 5000
Any commits on this reel got it for a good price going to pair it with the 8 ft profile rod and 16 # monoi. Thanks

I have two of the 8000s and they are great reels, but as David said, it has been discontinued so if you plan on needing parts get them now. The only issue I have ever had with mine are that the drag clicker spring don't last long. I have changed mine so many times that I have stopped replacing them. I just have phantom drag now. No one knows when I am hooked up.

The Penn Sargus 5000 has a (published) line capacity of 220 yards of 15# mono.
PENN SARGUS REEL SPECS
That MAY catch most kings, but some it will not.
A 6000 series would give you more line capacity (about 300 yards of 16#).
They are 'good' reels, I'm not knocking them (so is the Fierce).
And parts should be available for another 10 years or so...
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
