    Cool PC pier

Anyone hit up the piers around Panama City or fort Walton in the last year or 3???. My jobs main office is down there so I'll be traveling there a lot hopefully.

I've been to oakaloosa and like it but it smelled pretty bad around the bathroom. But we caught a bunch of cigs. I'm mostly going to Panama City to ling and king fish. Possibly kill a black fin. Just mostly curious about the locals there

I have fished the Okaloosa pier quite a bit as my father-in-law lives nearby. Folks are not bad, except when Cobia, Kings, and Pompano are biting. Then it's very territorial in some areas. But the Dolphins... geez. You have to stop casting sometimes to keep from hitting them, and if you catch something, you better buzz it back as fast as you can because the Dolphins roll inverted and hit it quick. It's hilarious... but frustrating.

Yeah when I fished oakaloosa they were def eating everything in sight. I mostly just want a change of scenery and the option to have a black fin pop up

I fished the PCB County pier back in early August. Swimmers everywhere in the shallows along with a few bow fishermen. Parking was at a premium on weekends. There was no where to park at the other pier that's across from Pier Park. People were cast netting for sheepshead and mangrove. You are not allowed to use a ribbon rig to catch LY. You are not allowed to clean fish on the pier. There were people on the end in kayaks charging $5.00 to take your shark bait out a few hundred yards.

On those piers you have to watch your tackle. They will take your box or extra rods while your back is turned.
People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I have fished the city and county pier both. Hit a sensational Spanish run one year on the county pier. fished both piers on a trip last summer and nothing happening. Prefer county pier over city pier. People not as friendly as Gulf Shores.
