Out of the north
Pier#r---If I go fishing Monday and Tuesday, do you think I should bring an ice auger?

One day a rather inebriated ice fisherman drilled a hole in the ice and peered into the hole, and a loud voice said, "There are no fish down there."
He walked several yards away and drilled another hole and peered into the hole, and again the voice said, "There's no fish down there."
He then walked about 50 yards away and drilled another hole, and again the voice said, "There's no fish down there."
He looked up into the sky, and asked, "God, is that you?"
"No, you idiot," the voice said, "it's the rink manager."Ragnar Benson:

The last time it got as cold as the forecast calls for here at hunting camp, I walked out on the porch to watch the air molecules freeze and set my cup of coffee on the railing---it froze so fast the ice was still warm.

The coldest I've ever seen it was when I was driving long haul, and broke down in Bismark, ND, it got down into the -20s.
So cold I could spit into the air, and it would freeze before it hit the ground.
So cold you could piss on a steel wheel hub, and it would slush and freeze without running off.Ragnar Benson:

Pretty cold here, 6 degrees now but going down to zero. It did get so cold once when I lived in the eastern part of the state that a big bonfire we had going froze solid. We busted the frozen flames up with a splitting maul and put the pieces in mason jars. From then on, whenever we needed a fire we could just open up one of the jars. I heard tell of two guys in a cussing match and the words froze mid air-when they thawed that spring curse words were heard all over. Of course I don't really believe that one....

-27 here in Wisconsin now! Everything is closed. Even my flashlight batteries are frozen. When I turn it on, the charge is sooo weak and cold the beam of light doesn't even shine straight, it just bends over to the ground. I know it's cold down there now too, but ya'll have no idea. At 17 degrees, I'd probably be fish'n in a t- shirt.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
