orange beach pier
does anyone have any info that they might care to share? east of J+M, through the light, turn left at the park? been there once, had a big sheepie follow a topwater plug. wuz wonderin' 'bout specks and/or flounder... any info greatly appreciated. i'm thinking it's a city pier, not state - one would need a regular fishing license, NOT the pier license, correct? thanks in advance, headed that way one of these days...

Yep, need a Saltwater License; the pier license is only good for GSP Pier and I think it covers Ft Morgan Pier also.
I have never fished there, but I have heard it is less than great in terms of catching. I have not seen anyone fishing there in my few visits to the park.
Nope this helps.Last edited by FinChaser; 08-17-2014 at 09:07 PM.

Fin is right. Sometimes after dark you may run into a misplaced catfish or trout, but the water is only about two feet deep and hard to fish. I've never had any luck trying to fish there and wouldn't waste my time. GSSP has always been my spot of choice. Alabama point pass used to be another favorite but as I'm sure you've read on the forum, it's closed and fenced due to needed repairs and no longer accessible. Good luck.

thanks to all, looks like my son + I will stick with the big pier... keep yer tip up.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
