Pissed me off, because I was a CAPTAIN, by doggies, but after I thought about it I realized that I wasn't fishing any more and really hadn't done for years---all I did was drive that boat around the Gulf and fix it when it broke. After I got out of the business it was nearly 20 years before I started enjoying fishing again, and that was from the beach and the pier, not from a boat. Kind of ruined it for myself. It was sort of like getting a job in the cookie factory because you love cookies---after a while you never want to see another cookie.
I guess what I'm trying to say is to examine this choice very carefully before commiting. There may be another job you can take that would still let you fish as much as you want to---there's a big difference in fishing when you want to and fishing because you have to.
It wouldn't have made any difference if somebody had told me this when I was making my choice to run charters---I'd have done it anyhow, but I wanted to pass my experience along to you---just to think about.
