New Fisherman Seeking Advice!
So the wife and I are just getting into fishing aroung the gulf coast and we are not really knowledgable about whats biting at what time of year and where some good locations are. We have been fishing from fort morgan pier and had some good success with white trout but nothing biting down there lately. Thinking about trying the gulf state pier but i believe my rods are to small. Any suggestions on rod reel and tackle i should be prepared to bring. Thanks for any advice given and God Bless!

First off WELCOME to the forum! :yippee:
If you're just going to fish for white trout (and such sized 'pan fish') the same tackle you have used @ Ft Morgan will certainly suffice.
Only if you intend to fish on the end of the GSPPier for larger palegics would you need to upgrade your tackle.
I'd suggest y'all make a scouting trip out there to evaluate what you want to do.
Either sightsee and watch, or fish for white trout and look and ask around at how the other fishers are doing it.
That will give you better insight into what kind of tackle and fishing you want.
Hope this helps!
