New 706Z demo reel
Penn made a very short run of reels to be tested out,and from what I can tell it's exactly the same as the old reels with the exception of no print on the rotor and the gold is bright like all their new reels. The testers will have to send their reel back on Aug. first along with a report ,and if things go as plan, production will begin. Gotta get used to a silent roller till I get it broke in.

I can't think of a better field tester to "give it hell", John LOL!
...or to get my formerly shrimp stained fingers on it to see if it's really worth '2 bones' to me ;-)(RETIRED) mostly.

To break it in faster shouldn't you give it to your daughter?
Just kidding, I know you are the master.

I figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.

For the sake of knowing, how do you test a reel? Is there a set procedure or list of items that you must complete, or do you just log your activities while fishing with it?
I have zero experience but from what I have read here, sharks, sand and saltwater would be abusive?

As soon as the new ones are available, I'm hoping the ebay prices on the old ones get more reasonable.

Down on the Zs, staying high on the greenies

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
