Need yals opinion!!!
I have a friend that's selling his Penn Battle 4000 on a 7'6 Star rod. What is the most you would pay?

The reel new is worth $100. Star makes good fishing rods. Depending on how good the condition is, I'd pay $100 maybe more. You got pics?

There are different prices on the Star Rods depending on the model.I think the higher priced ones go for around $179.Just saw one on craigslist Pensacola for $80.

I appreciate all the feedback he claims he's used it maybe a handful of times & it sits in his garage. He said the star rod new was $160 but for the amount he's asking for I can get something new & better

Yep, Bass Pro (in Spanish Fort) has BRAND NEW Penn Battle 4000 on a 7'6" Inshore Extreme rod for $169
And Penn Battle combos for much less than that.

Going there today since I finally get an off day and I want to be ready for when the warm weather decides to come & stay. What else would you recommend, I usually surf & pier fish but occasionally hit the jetties & the pass. I already have a Penn 5000 series with a 7' & 9' ugly stik & my 4000 series reels are crappy need to upgrade

It just depends on your budget and what 'feels right' for you.
But I suspect you might like the 7'6" combo ;-)
Look me up there after 2pm...

----After 2:00 p.m.----So that's why I never run across you at BPS. I would waste vast amounts of your time if I could.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
