Thread: Need Advice on Bait, Types, How Much, Accessories

I got a decent size fishing rig....a diawa 5000....20 Lb test. What type of leader should I rig it with? Hooks? What type of sinkers? What type of bait and how much? Appreciate any advice.

Planned on bringing a smaller rod for Spanish

If you are fishing for kings, number 4 or 2 treble hooks, 4x strong if you can find them. A roll of steel stranded leader in the 30 pound range along with spro or equivalent swivels, size 10 or 8. Cigar minnows frozen for bait or bring a sabiki and catch what is available at the pier. No weight needed.

It would be good to browse around a bit on some of the old topics where folks asked a fish specific question. You can pick up a lot that way.
