Name for barracuda species?
Can anyone tell me the name of the fish caught off the pier that resembles a barracuda but has a different name that starts with a "G" I believe??

Gauguanche, also referred to as the Lesser Sennet I believe. Great eating by the way. With the exception of the shape of the filet, no difference between it and speckled trout.

Taste like specks, but have a funky smell before you clean them. Scrub your fish box well.
Hmmmm---do the sharks chomp them like they do spanish?Last edited by Haywire; 08-24-2015 at 05:45 PM. Reason: singleton emancipation

Haywire, we were using them for shark bait while fishing the surf at Mexico beach and the Sharks loved them! Too bad I didn't know they tasted like specs...
