Bill I'm doing a lot of testing with tying on the spoons to keep Spanish from biting through the leader. We have been jigging under the Octi lights before daylight and it's getting expensive. Tried 30 lb.7 strand the other day and seemed to work Ok until one hit my swivel. Have lost bunch with fish biting through the mono. Thinking of slipping short piece of surgical tubing over the knot and putting shoe goo to hold it in place. Maybe 3-4 inch piece. Even lost a few with 60 lb. mono leader.

I know what you mean about expense......and I not fishing near as much as you guys do......that is one reason I started making my own spear head jigs.....it didn't hurt the pocket as bad when lost the first cast.....around .15 a piece.....sometimes other things seem to work better then those

Talked with my brother and he has been ordering bulk spoons from place in Canada. He has to add the hook and split ring and by the time I ordered the ones that are similar to the Cotton Cordell I wouldn't save any money.

Jockey Lot last Saturday - $3 for the bunch!
Good times, Good friends, Great Beer. You can buy all three - But it's always better to invest the time to make your own.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
