    Mackerel fishing

I need some advice on catching Spanish mackerels . I usually use the Got-Cha plug and it works well. But I'm just looking for any other lures that would help

Looney jigs tend to produce, feathered jig heads with strips of mackerel, small yozuris, and nothing beats a baby ly on a small treble hook.

Anything relative to the size of the prey fish they eat. I prefer using lures/jigs that are similar in size and color to things in the fishes diet. But yes, it's hard to beat a baby ly, always be looking down for live bait around the pier.

Don't forget the various soft plastics. White shad-type lures in the small to medium sizes, 3 and 4 inch, get absulutely murderized sometimes.

Snake: Anything relative to the size of the prey fish they eat.

Straight-up good advice, especially early in the fishing year for me.

And Rich... I CCS (can't catch you-know-what) on the plastics, so don't freak out if you see me watching you fish 'em. I'm never too old to look, listen, and learn.

Murderized. Verb. A combination of murdered and pulverized; killed and mutilated.

Pop: when they are on, it is glorious. Works similar but slower than a loony jig. I never leave home without 'em.
