Looney Jig Retrieve
How do you retrieve the looney jig when targeting Spanish?

Re: Looney Jig Retrieve
Most of the time as erratically as possible.
The best action imparts a side to side motion with relatively little foreward gain in the line towards you.
Also most of the time you want to let it sink deep and retrieve upwards (with an upward rod pump and reel crank) just until you can see the jig.
Then if you see a flash or fish swimming around it stop reeling and just pop your wrist as the jig sinks a few few feet.
If the fish swim away, open the bail for a few seconds and let the jig drop back toward the bottom and repeat the retrieve back to visual depth.
Hope this helps!
