Live Skrimps! I guess it's surprising that bait shops don't have several back up plans when one of their sources goes down. I'd have a secondary or tertiary source make a special delivery and then I'd have to just charge a little more due to needing to pass along the rush costs. The issue of course is if there's a storm or something that lasts for longer than the shrimp do and then you're stuck with dead higher-priced shrimp.

Like I said before -- I don't envy the person responsible for keeping a live shrimp inventory sufficient to meet demand!

Eym,you have no clue about the bait business. The only source of shrimp this time of year is a couple hundred miles away,or eight hours away because we are at the end of the delivery line. You need to know the facts before making an insulting post like that.

There is an old saying that is very true. "Be cautious with your criticism of another until you have walked a hundred miles in his shoes"

If I were a shrimp, I'd love to spend my last few hours in JohnG's supreme comfort shrimp condo. Get him to show you his holding facilities some time. The water is Bahamas clear and cool as a debutante's kiss. All the little shrimp are happily swimming around, breathing and eating each other. Dead ones are skimmed out every couple of hours, and if you are there when it happens it's the best source of fresh dead anywhere unless you buy live ones and kill them yourself.
