    Little Lagoon Pass

Staying near little lagoon pass for the next week. How is the fishing there? Any pointers would be appreciated. Not fishing for anything in particular. Bringing down some pompano rigs, a couple bucktails, some gulp alive penny colored shrimp, and a silver with red head gotcha. First time salt fishing, so I'll be thrilled to catch anything.

Well, Sackman, we should give the locals a few chuckles next week. I will be down next week for my first visit to GS, also staying down/over which ever, near LL Pass on Gulf side. I have done a little surf fishing in mid-Atlantic in the past, by no means an ol salty, so I guess the laughs are on us.

    Good Luck

    Hi Sackman,
I was fishing the surf a couple of weeks ago near the pass. The only fish biting were small...sorry to say. The whiting were biting on fresh dead shrimp and strips of squid, just a few yards out in the surf...use small hooks. If you get a couple of whiting of some size they are worth cleaning and frying..good eatin". One morning I did come up on some breaking fish close to shore....I threw a spoon out without using a steel leader....and I paid the price, my line was cut clean. Always keep a steel leader on your casting spoon. Tight lines!!

Just got back. Stayed just west of the pass. Surf fishing fresh dead shrimp by far is the best.
#1 circle hook. Whiting biting early and late. Hard Tails and Ladyfish present as well as a bunch of Robin Fish. Beautiful place.
