Late Spanish stragglers
Got to the pier late today @ 6:30pm. Set up a King rig with cigars and casted from left corner of octi. On the 3rd cast, something huge blew up on my bait and dragged me from one end of the octi to the other. Finally got him close enough, bout to call for a gaff when he darted under and line rubbed the barnacle....snap. We never saw color, but everyone had their own opinions as to what it was.
Soon after it got dark and the octi cleared out, I had almost given up. My brother and I landed our largest Spanish ever within a few minutes of each other right under the lights. Good things come to those who wait.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
