any kings eating Yo Zuri's?

Problem fishing them from the pier is not enough weight to keep underwater during windy conditions. Deep divers have the only chance. Although, #er linked some lure weights not long ago that you can add to the lures. I purchased some, and they do work great, but you must be prepared for the extra work it puts on the tip of your pole.

If you can use them from a boat or slightly above ground level, you'll have a better chance at landing them using these artificials.

From what I have seen, the larger the better--but definitely go with the 3D holo's they're coming out with lately.

I haven't hit anything on the blue 3d holo, however, other than bluefish and jacks.

no need for that big ol lip, i hate deep diving plugs, all you need to combat the smaller lip of a shallow running plug is a longg cast, can work it until its about 10 yards from the pier. plus, they love to sky on them things! :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

How about big Rattle-Traps? I've tried them a couple of times with no luck, anyone do any better with them off the pier?????

I had one with me..... but never tried it...I like live bait....I have seen others on other piers use them .....with success
I am a lazy fisherman, and either troll letting the motor do the work or live bait letting it do the work....once in awhile.... I will cast for spanish....with jigs I made and man did they work good :headbang:

Eddy, believe it or not, the Wal-Mart's in Foley and Gulf Shores carry a wide variety of Yo-Zuri's. Although, I believe I obtained that particular one from Bass Pro in Spanish Fort.

I am pretty sure all of the local tackle shops are carrying an assortment of Yo-Zuri products as well. I have seen some in J&M Tackle, Top Gun, and Mo Fishin. I believe the Pensacola Pier house sells some interesting styles as well.

As far as the lip style, it is based on wind conditions really, and the depth you want it to go--I haven't seen much difference in whether or not it deters a fish to bite or not bite. If the wind is calm, short lips work just fine at holding them under. Of course, the tip above about casting further is fine as well, but even that doesn't help these lures in really strong winds. I have been able to fly them "kite" style at times where they never hit the water from a cast.

thanks snow dog, I did find them at bass pro, for some reason the first search did not show them up, and after all the searches I did, I found out I have them already.
