    Re: kings

in stained water I go with 60 lb. sevenstrand wire. When the water is clear I go down to 27 lb. This time of year some of the bigger fish come through so 60 is a good idea. For fishing cigs I use either a #4 or #2 4x strong treble hook with a black swivel on the top side. I make my leaders around 16 inches long.

    Re: kings

    Easiest thing:

    Visit J and M
    or
Go to the octi, watch, talk to the guys catching Kings and ask them to help you out.

I'm using 27lb single strand, small swivel, 16lb main line and a 4x treble. Free line a Ly.

    Re: kings

I use the same setup as PurpleNGold. Except I take a more gutsy approach with 6-10# test main lines. I get flack for my light lines, but it is how I have fun and I only eat Kings under 40" due to mercury. So killing a big King is not my style, and I make it near impossible for myself to catch them on purpose. Much rather catch and eat a large spanish! :headbang:
