King Mackerel Sunday fun
For the King fishermen from AL.com :
"The crew of the Delta Line freighter Welplata are polite but firm when fish is served for dinner these days. They just don't want any, thank you.
"Cause for their united distaste is a giant mackerel -- believed by Capt. Jesse M. Jones to be the largest ever caught -- that put all hands on a fish diet for several meals.
" 'I believe it was the largest mackerel on record,' said Captain Jones. ... 'It was six feet, four inches long, and weighed exactly 140 pounds.' ...

Re: King Mackerel Sunday fun
On this date 1936:
"The mackerel was caught from the poop of the ship ... not far from Pernambuco, Brazil."
I believe whatthey caught was a wahoo and not a king mackerel.
Unless there is another species species that lives off Brazil. :-\(RETIRED) mostly.
