King Fisher rigs
Do you use a shock leader between your line and the steel leader? If so what # and length would you recommend. I'll be down in 14 hrs and trying to make final adjustment to my setup.

I don't. Its just one more knot to fail and it create friction going through the guide on the cast.

ONLY if my steel leader is very short and my line very light.
Then I might use a foot or two of 30#-40# clear mono or flouro.
Generally, less is mo betta ;-)(RETIRED) mostly.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
